Running a crypto influencer campaign end to end

Briefing without scripting, disclosure that does not require reshoots, timing that compounds, and reporting each placement separately.

A creator campaign is mostly logistics. The creative decisions are small and the coordination decisions are large, which is the opposite of how most teams plan one.

Brief, do not script

The single biggest quality difference between campaigns is whether the creator was allowed to sound like themselves.

A scripted post reads as an advertisement to exactly the audience you paid to reach. They follow this person because of how that person talks. Replacing that with your marketing language removes the only thing you were buying.

What a brief should contain:

  • Message priorities — the two or three things that must come across.
  • Hard constraints — claims that cannot be made, in plain language.
  • Disclosure requirements — exact wording and placement.
  • Timing — when it goes live.
  • Assets and links — their tracked link, correct and tested.

What it should not contain: a script, a shot list, or approval over tone.

Disclosure goes in the brief, not the edit

This is the operational point that saves the most money.

Disclosure requirements written into the brief cost nothing. Disclosure added after a video is finished means reshooting it, and the creator will reasonably charge you for that.

So: specific language, specific placement, agreed before filming, with a right to review the post before it goes live. What the disclosure must actually say is set by the platform rules and your legal team — we make sure it is in the brief, not what it says.

Review the actual post

What gets agreed and what gets published diverge more often than anyone expects. Not usually through bad faith — creators misremember constraints, or an editor cuts the disclosure for pacing.

A review step before publication catches it while it is still fixable. Without one, you find out when someone else does.

Concentrate the timing

Creator activity compounds when it lands together.

An audience member who sees your project mentioned by three people they follow within a week draws a conclusion. The same three mentions spread across a quarter produce three forgettable moments.

So book around dated moments — a launch, a listing, a product milestone, a conference — and cluster the posts. It takes more coordination and it produces a categorically different result from the same spend.

Not a shared campaign code. Not a blended UTM. Their own tracked link, resolving to their own referral code, attached to every account that arrives through it.

This is the entire foundation of knowing what happened. Without it you finish the campaign with a total and no idea which creators produced it, which means renewal is guesswork.

Test each link before the post goes live. A broken link on a creator’s biggest post of the month is an expensive and entirely preventable failure.

Managing the relationship

Creators are running businesses and they talk to each other. How you are to work with determines who takes your next campaign and at what rate.

Practical things that matter more than they sound: pay on time, brief early rather than the night before, give them the assets in the formats they actually use, and do not send fourteen rounds of feedback on a post you agreed not to script.

A reputation for being straightforward gets you access that budget alone does not.

What to report

Per creator, separately: what they posted, reach, response, cost, and how the users who arrived through their link behaved afterwards.

Blended reporting is how agencies hide that two creators carried a campaign and eight did nothing. If the report shows one number for the whole campaign, ask for the breakdown.

Then convert the good ones

Sixty to ninety days later, the data shows which creators sent users who stayed.

That group — usually a minority, rarely the biggest names — is who you move onto affiliate or revenue-share terms. Those relationships compound in a way a campaign never does, and the creators with genuinely engaged audiences usually earn more from them than from placement fees.

Common questions

How do you brief a crypto influencer?

Give message priorities and hard constraints, not a script. Creators know their audience better than you do, and scripted content reads as an advertisement to exactly the people you paid to reach. The brief should say what must be communicated, what cannot be said, and what the disclosure has to look like - then leave the execution to them.

How should influencer disclosure be handled?

Written into the brief before anything is filmed, with specific language and specific placement, plus a right to review the post before it goes live. Retrofitting a disclosure onto finished content usually means reshooting it. What the disclosure must say is set by the platform rules and your legal team, not by us or the creator.

When should influencer posts go live?

Concentrated around dated moments rather than spread across a quiet period. Creator activity compounds when several land in a short window, because an audience seeing a project mentioned by three people they follow reads that very differently from one mention. Spread thinly across a quarter, the same budget produces isolated posts that nobody connects.

How do you measure a crypto influencer campaign?

Per creator, never blended. Each placement gets its own tracked link, so you can see reach, response and cost for each one separately. Blended reporting hides which creators worked and guarantees you renew the wrong people. What those users are ultimately worth sits in your own numbers - we report what each placement did.

Does Corum8 run influencer campaigns?

Yes, end to end. Sourcing and vetting on audience data, negotiation, briefing, disclosure handling, scheduling around the moments that matter, per-creator tracked links, and the conversion into affiliate terms for creators whose referred users stayed.
